Hi! I’m David. I’m a 40 year old husband, father, writer, and the home chef living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
My Story
I used to live in the suburbs of Colorado. Over the years, I collected kitchen gadgets and utensils that I would rarely, if ever, use. I even owned a lettuce knife. A lettuce knife! When we moved in to a bigger house with a bigger kitchen and more cabinets to hold more stuff, I didn’t take advantage of the move to purge the useless items. Instead, I had a compulsion to fill the drawers with more stuff.
In 2014, my family and I moved to Philadelphia, where the older homes were smaller, with smaller kitchens, and where my collection of kitchen gadgets simply wouldn’t fit. I was forced to look at everything that I had amassed over the years and decide what I truly needed to be able to continue to cook for my family.
The answer was, not surprisingly, very little.
